 Two dear friends of mine, best way to celebrate is with cake! Chocolate roses or buttercream daisies, both are yummy!

Super Mom

 I participated in a cupcake competition at my school, the theme was mother's day. My team won first place, here are our creations. The wonder woman tiara topper cupcakes contain chocolate cupcakes filled with peanut butter ganache and topped with chocolate fudge icing. The super mom hearts are on top of a praline buttercream and vanilla cupcake filled with toasted almonds and caramel sauce. The last cupcake is a lemon poppy seed cake filled with passion fruit curd and marscapone cream cheese frosting topping.

Outside of class I would return to the kitchens and make some cakes just for the fun of it. Here are two gift box cakes and a lace cake decorated in fondant, and a pistachio torte covered in buttercream and a rim of toasted, chopped pistachios.

Spring Break

Most people go to some tropical place to get away fro spring break. I however already live by the beach and decided to do what I love, bake! I took orders from friends and family and made some delicious treats.

 This class was also known as the ice cream class! I churned fresh ice cream, sorbets, frozen yogurt, and gelato everyday. By the end I had made both a Bomb Glace and Baked Alaska, which are both ice cream cakes covered in chocolate glaze and toasted meringue, respectfully. The hot element came into play when I made cobblers, crisps, and crumbles.

Wedding Cakes

 I got the privilege to help make the wedding cake on the left and design one all by myself on the right. The four tiered cake is made with buttercream piping and a combination of many different flowers. The three tiered cake on the right uses fondant with royal icing design and gum paste orchids flowing down.

All I Want For Christmas Is Chocolate

 Chocolate cake, chocolate fudge frosting, covered in chocolate ganache and topped with raspberries, you can't go wrong.

Pies And Tarts Class

 Pies and Tarts class was fulled from crust to crust with lots of yummy treats! My favorite has to be the turtle pie, a take on the Turtle candy bar.
